Talbots Bastion in Kilkenny ( Bastion in Kilkenny on print),1797 antique print, a copper plate engraving. Talbot’s Bastion is a prominent medieval mural tower in Kilkenny’s defensive city walls, located at the southwest corner near Ormonde Road, which was a key element in the town’s 13th‑century fortifications. The engraving is dated as printed by S Hooper in Holborn, London in 1792 , however this work was not actually published until 1797. Engraver is Sparrow. The engravings have an impressed area size of 8 by 6 inches with the engraving measuring 7 inches by 5 inches. The overall paper size is 12 1/2 by 9 inches. The engraving is in good condition, there is age related foxing and toning mainly on the paper, please see pictures.
